Eco- Resort Project

What do we want to achieve? 

 

Through our Eco friendly resort, Ocean eco we want to achieve a completely natural and mind opening resort experience. We aim to keep our carbon footprint small and educate our guests on the importance of protecting our beautiful environment through ecofriendly sources of energy, water, food and unique experiences. 

 

Guidelines:

 

Ocean eco utilizes solar panels, tank water and water restrictions to keep our carbon footprint to a minimum. We also take advantage of the suns natural light and all buildings are fitted with large windows, sky lights and airy open spaces.

Guests are encouraged to keep their showering to the recommended two minutes per person, per day. This keeps water usage down and saves the islands water supply. In sunny Northern Queensland the sun’s rays are never hard to come by. Because of this, Ocean eco resort is able to run completely on the solar energy provided by our solar panels.

Every piece of wood or materials that your see in the resort has been 100 percent economically sourced and no trees were cut down in the process.

The resort asks that guests do not bring any of their own food onto the island as it is provided. All food from the Ocean eco dining space is organic, fresh and locally grown. None of the food is packaged therefore litter is not a concern on the island.
